Paintball Carriage Driving - It's a BLAST!

Back by popular demand, and already new and improved, Cypress Keep will be hosting its second paintball carriage competition on Saturday, April 2, 2005. For this event, each driver will go through a practice run, and then go through two paintball courses. Drivers may switch gunner/navigators between courses. The Driver constitutes a single entry.

Course 1: The first course is a 10-obstacle cones course that drivers may walk beforehand. The driver must negotiate the cones course in numerical order, with balls knocked down incurring the standard 3-second penalty. Gunners must attempt to hit all ten targets on the course, with a 5-second penalty per miss. Score is calculated by total seconds spent on the course plus penalty points.

Course 2: The second course is the "blind" hazard (not walked previously), where drivers negotiate the hazard elements as quickly as possible while gunners must hit all ten targets. Drivers can go anywhere on the course in any direction or order, as long as the gunner hits all ten targets. The goal is to hit all ten targets with the fewest number of shots in the fastest time. Scores are calculated as follows: The total number of seconds on the course, with a one-second bonus per paintball brought back. Missing a target puts you down a tier (as in show jumping). Only clean rounds (all targets hit) qualifies you for final placings.

Optional Jackpot Course 3: The third, optional event is the jackpot competition at the water hazard with a cash prize for the winner! Drivers must drive the hazard in standard lettered gate order (A-F), while gunners must shoot all the targets in the fastest time. Standard CDE penalties will apply. Special fun for pairs!! In the jackpot competition, pairs will have two gunners, each equipped with a different colored paintball – and every target must be hit by both gunners. This jackpot has an additional fee.
