A Clinic for Cones and Hazards by Barry Hunter

Barry Hunter, from England, has the highest rating available worldwide as a CDE course designer.  He has designed CDEs all over the world and is also an experienced driver and navigator.  Join Barry as he works through cones and hazards, with the clinics repeated, so you can either come Saturday or Sunday. 

 

The clinics are subsidized by the Southwest region of the Florida Whips, and preference will be given to those SW region members registering.

 

 

SATURDAY Schedule of Activities

  • 8:00-12:00: CONES clinic #1.  Begin in the classroom. After classroom, time to tack up and drive!
  • 12:00 pm.  Lunch break (you can reserve or bring your own)
  • 1:30-5:30:  HAZARDS/OBSTACLES clinic #2.  Begin in the classroom.  After classroom, time to tack up and drive!

SUNDAY Schedule of Activities

  • 8:00-12:00: CONES clinic #1.  Begin in the classroom. After classroom, time to tack up and drive!
  • 12:00 pm.  Lunch break (you can reserve or bring your own)
  • 1:30-5:30:  HAZARDS/OBSTACLES clinic #2.  Begin in the classroom.  After classroom, time to tack up and drive!

 

Fees

  • $30 per clinic session per driving entry.  Entries are limited to six drivers per clinic session!
  • $10 per clinic session audit fee if not driving ($20 per full day).
  • Paddocks: $10 per equine per day.  If staying overnight, pay for two days.
  • No paddocks:  Drive-in and tie to trailer is a $5 grounds fee per day
  • $7 per lunch (or bring your own).
  • $35 for the weekend camping fee if you require water/electricity. There are four 30-amp camping slots with electric/water hookups on property, and additional 30-amp electric/water hookups at our adjoining neighbor's property. 
  • $15 Non-whips member fee (can be applied to a Whips membership)

Safety Information and Rules

  • All members of your party must sign a liability release form, including drivers, navigators, grooms, guests, or assistants. Additional Liability Release forms can be downloaded by Clicking Here.
  • All dogs/pets must be kept on a leash at ALL TIMES.
  • All children under the age of 12 must have adult supervision at ALL TIMES.
  • There is absolutely no smoking allowed within 25 feet of any paddock or stall, as well as the house and lanai area.
  • Hardhats/safety helmets are required for anyone on a carriage.
